The normal assumption

Hi! Welcome to my blog. My name is william.I have regular job in IT and also work as a part-time tutor to earn a little extra income. After teaching for three years , I began to wonder if streaming is the best solution for our kids.I want to share about my encounters with some of these students in this blog.

As a tutor, I noticed that students from normal stream do not fit into the usual stereotype that most normal students are slow learners. A slower pace may not helps these underperformers.
Some are actually very bright learners but their working parents have no time to supervise them and hence they hardly study or hand up homework.Others have defective memory skills and if they received individual attention, the schooling experience could have been more pleasant for them.

I want to blog about some of the profiles of these students, and what I think would have helped them.

Before you read further please read the following disclaimer

1.Dont expect solutions in my blog. Sometimes i think government kills all the creativity by demanding solution for all criticism. They forget that prior to solving a problem, there is always "problem discovery" where solutions are not easily found. Criticizing the system is create an awareness the problem and hopefully someone can find a solution.

2. Do not expect me to become a social worker. Even if I don’t take significant action to solve the problem does means that I cannot criticize the system. Different people lead different lives. I am in debt so I have to work my ass to pay off my debts.

3.Please do not post comments on how wonderful our education system is compared to Vietnam, Africa or Indonesia. If you need a regular dose of good news, there is always Straits Times.
